Summer Schools Abroad
When it comes to English summer schools, England is the first country that comes to mind. The fact that it's only about a four-hour flight away is another important factor. With its unpredictable weather and diverse entertainment options, England never ceases to amaze students. With its capital, London, coastal cities like Brighton and Bournemouth, world-renowned university towns like Oxford and Cambridge, and many other popular cities, England offers a wide range of options.
UK Summer School Durations
It varies depending on the school's program, but a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of seven to eight weeks are generally preferred. Each week has a specific schedule. Students are predetermined by the time they attend class and the activities they will participate in on each day. These programs are typically designed for three to four weeks, and each program begins to repeat itself after completion. Therefore, we recommend that students choose multiple programs for the maximum duration of the program, or if available, choose multiple programs.
UK Summer School Admission and Application Requirements
Usually the minimum age is 10 years old.
Students over the age of 17 cannot participate in this program.
There is no specific language level requirement. Students are assigned to their level classes based on the results of a placement test taken at home on the first day of school or before leaving for school.
Cost of Living in the UK
The program includes tuition, accommodation, airport transfers, educational materials, activities, excursions, and often meals. Since most student expenses will be prepaid, a small amount of pocket money will be sufficient.
Accommodation in Summer School
Summer school accommodations typically offer both homestay and dormitory accommodation, but not every school offers these options. Students under 18 are only offered homestay accommodation. Students can specify any requests regarding host families, such as pets or children, or special diets, before departure. If dormitory accommodation is available, students will share rooms with multiple people. Bathrooms, toilets, and kitchens are generally shared spaces in these types of dormitories.
UK Summer School Visa
UK visa applications are generally processed within a maximum of four weeks, but this period may be shorter or longer depending on the application period. For minors under 18, a parental consent form is required, indicating that the student is permitted to travel alone. With this notarized document, the student can travel abroad alone. A six-month visa is available for summer school in the UK.
